KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 – Bioalpha Holdings Berhad is targeting to increase its Misai Kucing export capacity to 20 metric tonnes within the next two years, compared to approximately 10 metric tonnes currently, in line with growing global demand for products based on the herb.
The company said the increased export target is driven by growing demand in international markets, particularly South Korea, which has emerged as a key contributor to the growth of Bioalpha's herbal segment.
Bioalpha said the company's entire herbal supply chain, including Misai Kucing, Tongkat Ali and Soursop, is managed in an integrated manner from the cultivation and harvesting stages through to the production of finished products, to ensure consistent quality and traceability of raw materials.
At the same time, the company, which is involved in OEM, ODM and CDMO businesses, affirmed that its integrated operating model enables it to provide health product formulation and manufacturing to global customers more efficiently and at scale.

Bioalpha Executive Director Joe Ang said all its production facilities hold halal certification, which provides an advantage in penetrating various international markets, including Muslim consumer markets worldwide.
"The company has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, with over 500 exclusive product formulations developed to meet the needs of various market segments.
"Bioalpha is not merely a manufacturer; it also provides comprehensive support including market analysis, research and development (R&D), and technical expertise to help customers strengthen their market entry strategies.
"Misai Kucing cultivation operations began in 2012 before expanding into export activities in 2018, demonstrating a phased progression in the development of the company's herbal value chain," she said in a statement.
Currently, Bioalpha manages cultivation areas of approximately 100 acres in Pasir Raja and Desaru, with all operations complying with Malaysian Good Agricultural Practices (MYGAP) standards to ensure guaranteed raw material quality.
The South Korean market is seen as a key growth driver, as Bioalpha has established a strategic partnership with a local company through a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to supply raw materials and products to that market. – DagangNews.com
