Based on its commitment to improving community health and wellness, Bioalpha, a globally recognised publicly listed company in health product research and manufacturing, today announced impressive growth in its Misai Kucing cultivation operations and exports in Malaysia.
As its core business, Bioalpha continues to focus on providing comprehensive OEM, ODM and CDMO services to international customers.
With over two decades of experience, the company is supported by a fully integrated supply chain, encompassing the entire "from farm to finished product" process, as well as compliance with strict international production standards.
Integrated Supply Chain and HALAL Standards as Key Drivers
Bioalpha's operations are driven by two main pillars that ensure quality, compliance and scalability for global partners.
The company has developed its own cultivation and procurement system for key herbs such as Misai Kucing, Tongkat Ali and Soursop, thereby enabling comprehensive quality control from the source stage.
All Bioalpha manufacturing facilities comply with HALAL certification standards, ensuring internationally recognised production quality and facilitating access to various global markets. As a publicly listed company, Bioalpha also emphasises financial transparency and builds long-term confidence among business partners.
Commenting on this strength and the company's approach to supporting business partners, Bioalpha Executive Director Joe Ang said: "Bioalpha has 20 years of experience in ODM manufacturing and has developed over 500 exclusive formulations.
"Our operating principle is clear—everything we produce, we ensure is at the best level. We understand that every customer aims to develop products that truly meet market needs.
"Through a dedicated market analysis and R&D team, supported by HALAL-certified and efficient production lines, we not only offer manufacturing services, but also provide technical insights and comprehensive support to ensure successful market entry.
"Our mission remains to expand access to high-quality health products, so that consumers can enjoy them with full confidence and peace of mind."
Over a Decade of Misai Kucing Cultivation and Supply to Global Markets
Bioalpha's Misai Kucing operations reflect the strength of its integrated model. The company began standardised cultivation in 2012 and expanded export activities to the international level in 2018.
Currently, 100% of Bioalpha's Misai Kucing is self-cultivated and fully certified under Malaysian Good Agricultural Practices (MYGAP). The company also operates dedicated cultivation sites of approximately 30 acres in Pasir Raja and 70 acres in Desaru, thereby ensuring a stable, traceable and high-quality supply of raw materials.
To meet premium market requirements, Bioalpha implements strict supply standards by offering raw herbs in dry and solid form, high-concentration extracts and finished products.
Misai Kucing is widely recognised for its health benefits, including supporting kidney function, helping to regulate blood sugar levels, providing anti-inflammatory effects, supporting weight management, respiratory health and skin wellness.
Currently, annual export volume reaches approximately 10 metric tonnes (MT), with capacity expected to increase to 20 MT within the next two years in line with growing international demand.
The Korean market has emerged as a key growth driver, with Bioalpha establishing direct cooperation with leading Korean brand owners under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), as well as acting as the main supplier for raw materials and finished products.
Supported by efficient and HALAL-certified production lines, Bioalpha continues to transcend the role of conventional supply chain support by providing comprehensive research insights and technical expertise to help customers refine their market entry strategies.
As it expands its global presence, the company remains committed to expanding access to high-quality health products, while supporting partners in developing competitive and market-ready brands.
