BANGI, 9 June 2026 — More than 40 students from France visited Bioalpha Holdings Berhad today as part of an international internship and industry exposure programme organised by Art Market Malaysia, gaining first-hand insights into Malaysia’s healthcare manufacturing industry and globally recognised Halal ecosystem.
The visit provided the students with a comprehensive overview of how healthcare and wellness products are developed, manufactured, and brought to international markets. During the programme, the delegation toured Bioalpha’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities, where they learned about research and development, product formulation, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and large-scale production processes.
A key focus of the visit was understanding the role of Halal certification in today’s global marketplace. Beyond religious compliance, the students were introduced to Halal principles relating to quality, safety, hygiene, traceability, ethical sourcing, and consumer trust, which have contributed to Malaysia’s reputation as a leading Halal hub.
One of the highlights of the programme was a Halal Brand Innovation Challenge, where students worked in groups to conceptualise, design, and present their own Halal-inspired brands. Each team developed a brand identity, product concept, and value proposition before presenting their ideas to Bioalpha representatives.
The activity encouraged creativity, entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural learning while helping participants understand how responsible branding and consumer trust contribute to long-term business success.
Speaking during the programme, Joe Ang, Executive Director of Bioalpha Holdings Berhad, said the visit reflects growing international interest in Malaysia’s healthcare manufacturing capabilities and Halal expertise.
“Malaysia has built a unique ecosystem where innovation, manufacturing excellence, regulatory compliance, and Halal assurance work together to create products trusted by consumers worldwide. We are delighted to welcome these students from France and share the opportunities available within Malaysia’s healthcare and wellness industries,” she said.
Joe added that Halal certification has evolved into a globally recognised standard that appeals to consumers of all backgrounds.
“Today, Halal represents much more than compliance. It is increasingly associated with quality, safety, traceability, ethical practices, and consumer confidence. These values are universal and highly relevant in international markets.”
She also emphasised the importance of exposing young talents to real-world industries and emerging global trends.
“The future belongs to individuals who can combine creativity, innovation, and responsibility. Through this programme, the students experienced how brand building, product development, and ethical business practices can work together to create meaningful impact.”
The visit highlights the growing role of international educational exchanges in strengthening collaboration between future talents and industry leaders while promoting greater understanding of Malaysia’s strengths in healthcare manufacturing and Halal excellence.
With more than two decades of experience in research, product development, manufacturing, and exports, Bioalpha continues to support educational initiatives and international collaboration while contributing to Malaysia’s position as a trusted centre for healthcare innovation and Halal-certified products.
